1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
Master of All Trades is operated by 102243324 Saskatchewan Inc., a corporation incorporated under the laws of Saskatchewan ("Master of All Trades", "we", "us"). Our mailing address is 3 Massey Road, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. You can reach us at support@masterofalltradesjobs.com.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and us. They apply whenever you visit or use the Master of All Trades website and related services (the "Platform"). By creating an account, or by using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they refer to, including our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Review Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you offer services on the Platform, the Pro Agreement also applies to you.
If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Who can use the Platform
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- If you use the Platform for a business, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf, and "you" includes that business.
- You must give accurate, current information and keep it up to date.
- One person or business, one account, unless we agree otherwise. You may not use someone else's account or create an account for someone else without their permission.
- We only offer the Platform in the provinces and territories shown as open on the site. We may open or close areas at any time.
3. What Master of All Trades is - and is not
Master of All Trades is an online venue. Customers post details of a job, and independent professionals ("Pros") can review those requests, send quotes, message customers and arrange bookings.
We are not a party to any agreement between a customer and a Pro. When a customer hires a Pro, the contract for the work - its price, scope, schedule, quality, warranties, payment, cancellation and any deposit - is solely between them.
In particular, we do not:
- employ, supervise or control Pros, or act as their agent;
- perform, guarantee or insure any service;
- guarantee that a Pro is licensed, insured, qualified, available, honest or suitable, or that a customer will pay or hire;
- process payments between customers and Pros (unless and until we clearly offer that feature and describe it in these Terms).
Pros are independent businesses solely responsible for their services and for complying with the law, including licensing, permits, safety, tax and consumer protection rules.
Master of All Trades is not an employment service. We provide advertising, lead-generation and software services to independent businesses. We are not an employment agency or recruiter, we do not offer or arrange employment, and we never charge anyone a fee to find a job. Lead credits, subscriptions and the verification fee are fees for business services, not for access to employment.
Some Pros display a Verified Pro badge. It means only what our Pro Verification Standards say it means: that we reviewed certain documents at a point in time. It is not an endorsement, a guarantee or a background check.
4. Your responsibilities when you hire or work
Before hiring, customers should do their own checks: compare quotes, check reviews and references, confirm licences and insurance where the work requires them, get the price and scope in writing, and never pay large amounts up front without a written agreement.
For services involving children, seniors, vulnerable people, pets or access to your home - such as child care, tutoring, elder care, pet care and cleaning - take extra care. Ask for references and, where appropriate, a current criminal record or vulnerable sector check. Child care providers must follow provincial child care laws, including limits that apply to unlicensed care.
5. Accounts and security
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password confidential, use a strong unique password, and tell us right away at support@masterofalltradesjobs.com if you think your account has been compromised. We may require you to verify your identity or email address.
6. Customers
- Posting requests, receiving quotes and messaging Pros is free for customers.
- Your job request must be for a real, lawful job that you intend to have done. Don't include information that isn't needed - especially not other people's personal information, full names or photos of children, or financial or government ID numbers.
- Details of your request (but not your contact information, unless you share it) are shown to Pros who serve that type of job in your area so they can quote.
- You are not obliged to hire anyone who quotes.
- Requests must be for a project or service you want a business to quote on. Don't use Master of All Trades to recruit employees, advertise a job opening, or offer wages or shifts. We remove those requests and refund any lead credits Pros spent on them.
7. Pros, fees and payments
Pros pay to use some features, such as lead credits, the optional Pro subscription and the one-time verification fee. The current price of each is shown before you buy, together with any applicable taxes. The Pro Agreement and Refund & Cancellation Policy explain how these work.
- Payments to Master of All Trades are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the price shown when you subscribed until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account's subscription page; your benefits continue until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If we change the price of a subscription, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
- Lead credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not a deposit or stored-value account.
8. Content you post
You keep ownership of the content you post (profiles, photos, requests, quotes, messages, reviews). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize a photo) and distribute that content to operate, improve and promote the Platform. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons, content others have already shared, and reviews (see the Review Policy).
You confirm that you have the rights to what you post, that it is accurate, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights - including privacy and copyright. Only post photos of people with their permission, and never post identifiable photos of children without their parent's or guardian's consent.
We may review, refuse, remove or restrict content that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms or the law, but we have no obligation to monitor content.
9. Rules of conduct
You must follow our Community Guidelines. Among other things, you may not use the Platform to break the law, offer prohibited services, discriminate, harass, spam, scam, collect other users' information for unrelated purposes, post fake reviews, interfere with the Platform's security, or scrape it with automated tools.
10. Messages and safety
Messages between users are private between the participants, but our authorized staff may review them when needed to investigate a report, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with the law, or keep the Platform safe. Never share passwords, banking details or government ID numbers in messages. Report anything suspicious to support@masterofalltradesjobs.com.
11. Featured placement and ranking
Search results are ordered using factors such as relevance to your search, location and service area, and account features. Some Pros pay for featured placement; those listings are labelled "Featured". We don't accept payment to change reviews or ratings.
12. Third-party services
The Platform uses and links to services run by others (for example Stripe for payments, Google sign-in and map providers). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. See Third-Party Services.
13. Our intellectual property
The Platform, including its software, design, logos and the Master of All Trades name, belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the Platform only as these Terms allow. Don't copy, modify or reverse-engineer it, or use our name or logos without written permission.
14. Suspension and closing accounts
You may close your account at any time by making a request through the privacy request form or by contacting support@masterofalltradesjobs.com.
We may warn you, limit features, remove content, suspend or close your account if we reasonably believe you broke these Terms or the law, created risk or possible legal exposure for us or other users, or if required by law. Where appropriate and lawful we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unused purchased lead credits and the unused part of any prepaid subscription period.
15. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no promises about the Platform or about any user, Pro, service, quote or review, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't promise the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived or limited by contract. If you are a consumer, those rights continue to apply.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, services, products, content or conduct of any user or Pro, or for any dispute between users.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Platform is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) CAD $100.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for our fraud, gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or for personal injury caused by our negligence.
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your content, or services you provide or receive through the Platform. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by our own fault.
18. Disputes
Between users: disputes about a job are between the customer and the Pro. We may, but don't have to, help. Our Review Policy and Community Guidelines describe how we handle reports.
With us: please contact us first at legal@masterofalltradesjobs.com; most concerns can be resolved informally, and we'll try to respond within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You and we agree to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Regina, Saskatchewan, except that if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the province where you live, where the law gives you that right.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Platform, our business or the law. We'll post the new version with its effective date and keep past versions available on this page. For material changes we'll give reasonable advance notice (normally at least 30 days) by email or on the Platform, and signed-in users will be asked to review and accept the new version. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the Platform and close your account before it takes effect.
20. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the policies they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about the Platform.
- Severability: if any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver: not enforcing a right now doesn't mean we give it up.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganization, merger or sale of our business, with notice to you.
- Events outside our control: we aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices: we may send notices to the email address on your account or post them on the Platform. Legal notices to us must be sent by email to legal@masterofalltradesjobs.com or by mail at 3 Massey Road, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. A notice emailed to us is received on the next business day.
- Language: these Terms are written in English.
