1. Who we are
This policy explains how 102243324 Saskatchewan Inc., operating as Master of All Trades ("we", "us"), collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, provincial private-sector privacy laws such as Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act.
We are accountable for personal information under our control and have designated a Saim Munshi, Privacy Officer, who can be reached at munshisaimuddin@gmail.com or by mail at 3 Massey Road, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
2. What we collect
We collect only what we need for the purposes below. A detailed list - including where each item comes from and how long we keep it - is in What Data We Collect. In summary:
- Account information: name, email, username, password (stored only as a secure hash), role (customer or Pro), city, province, postal code, phone number and profile photo if you add them.
- Job requests: what you need done, where and when, your budget, photos you upload, and any other details you choose to include.
- Pro business information: business name, description, services, service area, years in business, website, phone, portfolio photos and availability.
- Verification documents (Pros): documents you upload to become a Verified Pro, which can include government-issued ID, business registration, licences, insurance certificates and certifications.
- Messages, quotes, bookings and reviews you send or receive on the Platform.
- Payment information: when a Pro buys something from us, our payment processor Stripe collects the card details. We receive only limited information such as a customer reference, the amount, the date and whether the payment succeeded or was refunded. We never receive or store full card numbers.
- Sign-in with Google: if you choose it, Google shares your name, email address and profile identifier with us.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, dates and times, and security logs; and cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Communications with us: support emails, privacy requests, reports and feedback.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The Platform is not intended for them.
3. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- match job requests with suitable Pros and let customers and Pros quote, message, book and review;
- display Pro profiles publicly;
- review verification documents and show the Verified Pro badge;
- process purchases, subscriptions, refunds and chargebacks, and keep required financial records;
- keep the Platform safe - prevent, detect and investigate fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents and breaches of our Terms;
- provide support and send service messages (for example receipts, security alerts, quote and booking notifications, and changes to our terms);
- send marketing emails - only if you opted in; you can opt out at any time;
- understand and improve the Platform, using aggregated or de-identified information where possible;
- comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We will ask for your consent before using your information for any new purpose not described here, unless the law permits otherwise.
4. Consent
We rely on your consent, which may be express (for example, ticking a box) or implied where the purpose is obvious and the information is not sensitive (for example, using your email to send a receipt). We always ask for express consent for sensitive information such as government ID, and for marketing emails and non-essential cookies.
You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing some consents may mean we can't provide part of the service - for example, we can't keep a Verified Pro badge without the related documents. See Consent & Communications.
5. Who can see or receive your information
- Other users: Pro profiles are public. The details of a job request (not your name or contact details) are shown to Pros who serve that type of job in that area. Your name is shown to the people you message or book with, and your contact details are shared only if you choose to share them. Reviews show the reviewer's first name and last initial.
- Service providers who process information on our behalf and under contract, only as needed for their service: hosting (Amazon Web Services (AWS)), payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (our email delivery provider), sign-in (Google, if you use it), maps and content delivery networks. See Third-Party Services.
- Legal and safety: when required or permitted by law - for example, to comply with a court order or law enforcement request, to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud, or to enforce our Terms.
- Business transfers: if our business is reorganized, merged or sold, information may be transferred to the new owner, who must continue to protect it as this policy describes.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or trade it.
6. Information stored outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is protected by contract but may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws. Our hosting is located in Canada or the United States.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires, then delete or anonymize it. Typical periods are listed in What Data We Collect. For example, financial records are kept for the period required by tax law (generally six years), and verification documents are deleted within 12 months after a Pro's account is closed or on request, unless we must keep them longer for a legal reason.
8. How we protect it
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encrypted storage of integration credentials, access limited to authorized staff who need it, logging of administrative actions, and checks on uploaded files. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
9. Your rights
You can:
- access the personal information we hold about you and learn how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw consent or ask us to delete your account and information, subject to legal exceptions;
- complain to us, and if you are not satisfied, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your provincial privacy commissioner.
Most profile information can be updated in your account settings. For anything else, use our privacy request form or email munshisaimuddin@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within 30 days; if we need more time we'll tell you why, as the law allows. Access is free unless a request is unusually large, in which case we'll tell you any cost first.
10. Children and job requests about children
The Platform is for adults. When posting a job such as child care or tutoring, only include what a Pro needs to quote - for example the number and ages of children - and never full names, photos, school names or health details. Share more only once you've chosen a Pro, and only what's needed.
11. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work, and - only with your consent - optional cookies. See our Cookie Policy and change your choices any time in Cookie settings.
12. Changes to this policy
We'll post any changes here with a new effective date and keep earlier versions available. If a change is significant, we'll notify you before it takes effect and, where required, ask for your consent.
